Tajmeel: Qatar International Beauty Academy inaugural graduation was held on March 14h at Qatar National Convention Centre and attended by Her Excellency Munira bint Nasser al Missned, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at the Social Development Center

Doha, 18 March 2012: The glittering Tajmeel graduation event held on March 14th at Qatar National Convention Center heralded a new era for the beauty industry in Qatar. The event, attended by Her Excellency Munira bint Nasser al Missned, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at the Social Development Center, was special as students of Tajmeel: Qatar International Beauty Academy graduated with flying colours in the first internationally recognized beauty qualifications awarded in Qatar.
The evening was entitled ‘The Future of Beauty’ and during the evening the audience experienced a vibrant journey through the ages of beauty. This included live themed demonstrations that gave fascinating insights into the Egyptians; Ancient China; the Romans; The French Revolution; and the glamorous Hollywood of the 1950s. The evening culminated in a catwalk show that encapsulated the eras, finally leading to the students’ creative concepts of the future of beauty.
Special guest at the event was celebrated Lebanese hairdresser Tony El Mendelek, official hairdresser of Star Academy and no stranger to the world of celebrities. Tony shared and demonstrated his skills with the talented graduates giving an exciting insight into the industry.
The evening represented the culmination of dedicated work. Since its inception in 2009 by the Social Development Center (SDC), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Tajmeel has gone from strength to strength. In just three years it is the only institute in Qatar to have attained the three reputable qualifications in the hair and beauty industry and recently it was delighted to have been approved to work towards the world famous CIDESCO accreditation.
The Social Development Center as key sponsor for the event continues to be one of Tajmeel’s proudest supporters. Commenting, Her Excellency Munira bint Nasser al Missned, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at the Social Development said:

Amal Al Mannai, Executive Director of the Social Development Center, highlighted the importance of the graduation:

An important part of our role is to support individuals to discover their capabilities, and in doing so, make valuable contributions to society. This graduation celebrates this and the attainment of globally recognized qualifications in the beauty industry here for the first time.”
