In cooperation with the International Labour OrganizationThe Project aims at achieving the following outputs:
1.The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Center (SMEDeC) established at SDC and providing specialized, non-financial, practical and demand driven services to Qatari nationals.
2.Practical business training programmes developed for small enterprises in Qatar. The programme materials will be in Arabic and will be based on the ILO/SIYB (Start and Improve Your Business) training materials. The materials will include:
Subject to the availability of funds under the current project budget, print the materials' final colored copies either in Arabic. If no funds are available, the project will deliver the final layouts in electronic version to the SDC for printing in due course
3.Ten to fifteen nationals Qatari trainers trained to provide Start and Improve Your Business training and group-based follow-up to small enterprises
4.A number of advocacy campaigns and marketing tools for SME development and training produced with SDC taking the lead in the national promotion.
5.SMEDeC's capacity to facilitate the provision of small loans to existing entrepreneurs and/or entrepreneurs to be enhanced.
