Health and medical services

These are direct medical services for the individual after proper analysis and diagnosis. These services include:

Charity Dialysis Unit Project

This project aims to help expatriate kidney failure patients who are not able to afford the cost of treatment. A specialized dialysis unit was opened at Hamad Hospital, where seven dialysis machines were provided as a donation from charitable individuals.

The project is being supervised by committee members from SDC and the Endowment Corporation at the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic affairs.

• Financial aid to cover the cost of IVF treatment cost, as a donation from H.H. Sheikha Mozah.
• Occasional and permanent financial aid and services for SDC participating limited-income families.
• Monthly financial aid for some Qatari families that have insufficient income.
• Seasonal and irregular financial aid for events during Ramadan, Eids and the school year.
• Educational services for primary or university education.
• Aid to limited-income expatriate families to send their children to governmental schools or to help them cover part of the education expenses at private schools.
• Scholarships financed by H.H Sheikha Mozah for 10 superior students from expatriate and limited-income families.
• Consulting services for domestic problems. These services are focused on the individual.
• Protective services: These services include social awareness programs, which are carried out through open lectures and forums and the use of the different media channels to avoid possible problems before their occurrence.
• Academic services: Studying the social phenomena that cause problems, from an academic perspective, and organizing conferences with the aim to raise awareness of domestic problems and to recommend solutions.
• Qualifying and training services: These services are provided to families to become self-sufficient, through developmental projects such as the Micro-Star Project.
  

Other services

In addition to the above, the unit also provides the following services:

• Services and programs for the handicapped ad elderly.
• Maternal and childhood services.
• Finding job opportunities in private organizations for unskilled individuals.

The office transfers the cases deserving the above services to the following:

• Training and Placement Department, upon request.
• Social Awareness and Education programs.
• Other consulting offices in the Department.
